Mohawk Valley Garlic & Herb Festival
Non-Profit Organization Vendor Policy
The Mohawk Valley Garlic & Herb Festival is an agricultural-based festival held annually on the second Saturday of September. Vendor applications are juried for the following categories: garlic grower, herb grower/product producer, festival cuisine, musician and artisan. Every effort is taken to build a festival/market that is regionally known for its garlic and herbs. The festival is patterned after several successful garlic festivals held throughout the northeastern United States, not all of which include non-profit organizations that are attempting to raise funds.
The MVGHF committee, however, has voted to include community organizations in the festival.
Our vision for including non-profit organizations as vendors is one that combines community involvement with festival growth. We’ve identified the need for more family-oriented activities and to that end, have asked non-profits to provide an activity that enhances the festival and can be enjoyed by all age groups. An example of this is the corn toss sponsored by Canal Place Development Association. The association benefits financially from the activity and the festival gains a fun, harvest-themed activity.
We encourage groups interested in fundraising to contact us for ideas.
